OIL CHANGE

Having an oil change and filter change at regular intervals is the single most important and cost-effective action you can take to extend the life of your car. You can find recommended intervals by time or distance travelled in your car’s manual. Not only will a regular oil change make your engine last longer it will run smoother and will get better MPG.

Drivers who only drive their cars or Motorhomes for very few miles in a year should still do a yearly oil change. Oil doesn’t just get contaminated on high mileage cars, it will get contaminated by humidity condensing in the oil sump so should still be changed yearly.

This applies to an oil filter also, the oil filter fabric will degrade and end up in your engine oil and the ability to filter out contaminants will reduce over time also.

We have a separate customer waiting room with FREE Wi-Fi.

After your Oil Change please scan our Reminder QR code with your phone, this will set a reminder for 11 months’ time to have us check or replace your Oil.

What does it cost to have my oil checked?

The Car Clinic will check your oil for free and this does not normally need an appointment, however, most vehicles need some time for engine oil to settle so we can get an accurate reading. We will check the level and condition of your oil and advice you accordingly.

What other fluids need checking on a car and motorhome?

It’s not only engine oil that needs checking on a regular basis, the following fluids should also be checked and changed as per the owner’s manual.

  • Automatic Transmission Oil. This must be checked when the car is hot as transmission all expands and will give a wrong reading if it is not at normal (high) operating temperature.
  • Power Steering Fluid.
  • For rear Wheel and 4 wheel drive vehicles.
  • Front and rear differential Oil.
  • Transfer case fluid.
  • Universal joints lubrication.
