Car of the Year 2021 Finalists Announced
The organisers of the European Car of the Year 2021 award have announced their seven finalists for this year’s prize.

The finalists are:
- Citroen C4
- Cupra Formentor
- Fiat 500
- Land Rover Defender
- Skoda Octavia
- Toyota Yaris
- Volkswagen ID.3
The jury of 60 experts will now take part in the second round of voting that will determine the winner. The winner of the 2021 European Car of the Year will be announced on March 1st 2021. The winner will succeed in 2020’s Car of the Year, the Peugeot 208.
2021 Car of the Year contenders
A total of 29 cars were in the running for the 2021 prize. All models must be on sale now or before the end of 2021 in five or more European countries. The finalists included no less than four from Mercedes, the electric Polestar 2, two of Ford’s SUVs and the Volkswagen Golf along with its all-electric sibling the ID.3.
