BMW has announced the launch of five new Heritage motorcycle models in an online presentation.
The cancellation of motor shows for the foreseeable future means we won’t getting to see the new BMW vehicles in person but the launch season has continued continuing unabated as BMW held its 2021 model presentation online. The Bavarian manufacturer has revealed five new models from its ‘Heritage’ range of retro motorcycles.
BMW’s New R 18 cruiser is at the forefront, with images teased before the event of its shiny new 1800cc Boxer engine. Spy shots suggest that a new Touring and Bagger version of the BMW R 18 will also be making their debut, adding more options for those who want a big Bimmer with a retro-inspired design.
There was furious speculation before the event as to what else would be revealed, with the smart money being on the German marque announcing more spin-offs of the ever-popular R nineT model. There are already a total of four R nineT models available for purchase – a standard base model, the Scrambler, the Pure and the snappily named /5 - so whichever flavour you like, you should be spoilt for choice.
BMW also announced that a number of ‘special guests’ would be unveiled at the launch, which included Michael van der Mark, who has joined the manufacturer’s WorldSBK effort aboard the new BMW M 1000 RR – which was revealed back in September.
